| The Anthony Wayne Soccer Club participates in league play, primarily through the Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League
(NWOYSL). NWOSYL coordinates games in Northwest Ohio and is a member of the Ohio Youth Soccer Association - North. OYSAN sanctions tournaments in Northern Ohio and is affiliated the United States Soccer Federation
(USSF). The USSF is the governing body for league play in the United States and is a member organization of the Federation de Football Association
(FIFA). FIFA is the international body which establishes the rules of play for soccer.

History:
The
Anthony Wayne Soccer Club (AWSC) was founded in the early 1980's as the
Whitehouse Soccer Club. The primary purpose of the AWSC has been to
promote youth soccer throughout the district. The club voted to adopt
the name UNITED to represent the unified name under which all
AWSC teams will play at the competitive level.
The future success
of soccer in our area depends on our ability to foster enthusiasm and a
competitive spirit for the sport itself
while enjoying a high level of volunteer commitment from our parents,
families, and community.
The AWSC will strive to develop a close
working relationship with the recreational league that will provide an
environment that athletes of all abilities will enjoy. By
developing a closer relationship with the Anthony Wayne High School (AWHS)
Soccer Program, we will enable our coaches to interact with AWHS staff
to develop standardized protocol for tactical and technical training.
The AWSC is proud of its
reputation and the quality of play of our teams. It is our hope
that you will be equally proud of your forthcoming experiences with
Anthony Wayne United. |
| Meetings:
The club holds meetings the third Monday of each month.
These
meetings are held at the Anthony Wayne Central Administration
Office at 9565 Bucher Road in Whitehouse [Mapquest
Directions] and they start promptly
at 8:00 p.m.
All parents/guardians, coaches, and board members are voting members
of the club. Club business, policies, and procedures are voted
upon at each meeting. You are strongly urged to attend these
meetings and participate.
It is a policy that a minimum of one voting member representing each
team be present at each meeting.
