My belief is that players need to be put in
environments that demand they learn to read and think the game. Too
many players are over-coached in our game and can not think for
themselves. We have a lack of creativity among our players. Players
need to spend time on their own with the ball in the backyard, basement,
garage, etc trying tricks and ball movements. Players need to be
given time to develop a love for the game through playing and watching.
We need to remember we are not only building players, but the next
generation of coaches, referees, parents, and fans! |

Biography
Growing up in New Jersey
, I began playing soccer at the age of 3. While in middle school, at
the age of 12, I started playing for the Olympic Development Program. I
played
High School Soccer for
Montclair High School and was awarded the Essex County Player of
the Year in 2000 and 2001 as well as First Team All State in 2001. I
was able to begin my Collegiate Soccer Career with a full, 4-year
scholarship at the University of California Santa Barbara . In 2007, I
moved to
Toledo and quickly immersed myself in coaching for
Anthony Wayne United and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences
with this Club. I will be bringing my knowledge of the game, playing
experience and competitive soccer skills to the Academy as well as my
passion, love and enthusiasm for the game. At the age of 26, I still
enjoy playing soccer and you can find me quite often at the Maumee
Soccer Center or at Pacesetter Park . |
